Summer Pro Bono Opportunities for Law Students in Tennessee
For law students seeking experience over summer 2020, Tennessee access to justice and legal organizations are working together to provide new oppotrunities:
Volunteer with TALS: Summer 2020 Virtual Volunteer Program
This internship provides the opportunity to strengthen legal research and writing skills, gain in-depth knowledge of civil legal issues, and learn more about access to justice and pro bono work in Tennessee. Interns can expect to gain experience working with all of TALS’ programs, including the civil legal helpline and TN Free Legal Answers. Each intern will produce blog posts, responses for TN Free Legal Answers Questions, and written resources for TALS’ legal helpline attorneys, as well as assist with ongoing projects throughout the summer. Interns may be able to virtually shadow TALS’ helpline attorneys and join helpline limited scope advice calls with clients. TALS will work with each intern to create a meaningful internship and development plan for the summer. For example, interns will have the opportunity to produce a writing sample for use in the future, if desired.
