Tennessee Supreme Court Members Join LAET to Honor Attorney Pro Bono Service
BRISTOL, TN – Members of the Tennessee Supreme Court will join Legal Aid of East Tennessee to recognize volunteer service at a celebration dinner, Tuesday, November 17th at Bristol Motor Speedway. A reception for the Justices will occur from 6:00 – 6:30 p.m., with dinner and the awards presentation to follow.
Upper East Tennessee attorneys will be presented awards for participating in LAET’s Pro Bono Project by donating time and skills to provide civil legal services to low-income and elderly residents, and victims of domestic violence. The Supreme Court Justices will recognize attorneys from across the State of Tennessee who have achieved the distinction "Attorneys for Justice" by providing more than 50 hours of volunteer legal service in their own communities.
Planning to attend are Chief Justice Sharon G. Lee, Justice Cornelia A. Clark, and Justice Jeffrey S. Bivins. Chief Justice Lee will also give remarks. Emcee for the evening is Jessica Larkin, morning anchor / reporter at WKPT-TV ABC News 19.

Legal Aid of East Tennessee’s mission is to ensure justice for elderly, abused, and low-income people by providing a broad scope of civil legal assistance and advocacy.
